The top of the line Alfa-Romeo from 1961 to 1968, the 2600 was a derivate from its mid-range model, the 2000. Produced in five variants, Alfa Romeo took the party to contract a different coachbuilder for each variant. The Berlina sedan was built and designed by the factory, the Sprint coupe was a Bertone creation, Carrozzeria Touring was in charge of creating the Spider and Zagato was commissioned for the building of the rare Sprint Zagato coupe, of which only 105 were made. Last but not least, OSI-Ghia built 54 De Luxe limousines. Interestingly, the Sprint was the best-selling model, with just under 7,000 cars sold. The Berlina, intended to take most of the sales, failed to do so with only 2,092 units sold. The Alfa-Romeo 2600 we are offering for sale is one of only 2,255 Touring Spiders built. This remarkable example is exceptionally well-preserved. Completely original with the exception of the seats, this Alfa-Romeo 2600 Touring Spider is probably one of the best 2600 Touring available on the market. The mechanics (Engine and gearbox) was fully restored in the 90's, the upholstery looks like new and was restored in the 2000, the paint is brand new. The car was fully serviced recently, including the braking system. This Alfa-Romeo 2600 Touring Spider is immediately available in France with its Italian registration. copy by carmax.blogspot.com |
