For the past 50 years, the name Corvette has been associated with Chevrolet’s top of the line sports car. 6 generations and more than 1.5 million Corvettes later, the dynasty is still alive with the current Corvette, the C6, a fierce sports car.
Yet in the beginning, the C1 was a simple roadster. The standard engine was the Blue Flame inline 6 and was more a cruising car than a real performer. The C2 took the sports car image, with engine powers ranging from 250 hp to 435 “official” hp on the 1967 Tri-Power V8.
The Corvette we are offering for sale today is one of the third evolution of the C1 generation, and probably the C1’s most famous 4 headlights design. This specific design, sold 1958-1960, saw numerous upgrades from the previous versions. Some more symbolic than others, such as the factory-installed seatbelts (they previously were dealer-installed), a new interior design and the presence of a glove compartment.
The Corvette we are happy to offer for sale today is a very clean example of a 1959 model. This Tuxedo Black car is one of 9,670 Corvette produced this year and one of 1,594 cars chosen in this color. Equipped with the standard 283ci V8 engine good for 230 hp, this particular Corvette received with the optional 4-speed manual transmission.
An older restoration, this Corvette has only been driven 17,000 miles since it was completed, and only 92,000 miles since it exited the St. Louis factory. Since we purchased the car, we decided to undertake extensive work to bring it to concourse level. The paint is brand new, so is most of the interior (carpets, door panels), most of the chrome parts and the soft top. The engine was fully serviced and works faultlessly.
It is available in France with its Spanish registration.

I'm not sure why but this website is loading very slow for me. Is anyone else having this problem or is it a issue on my end? I'll check back later on and see if the problem still exists.tours from naples to amalfi coast
